Project Description:

• Client Requirements: The client pointed out rotten sections of the deck, and the existing color was not satisfactory anymore due to several sealing coats, the deck stairs were not sturdy anymore either. The client required a full restoration and repairs to the deck.

• Unique Features: Deck stairs are sturdy and rotten sections have been repaired. The deck was sanded completely, from top to bottom. After thorough sanding and application of Wooddoc Deck dressing, the beautiful natural color of the deck is quite the eye-catcher. Bitumen waterproofing has been applied to the bottom wood sections and supporting timber to prevent water droplets from causing rot.

  • Beautiful, natural wood color visible after the application of Wooddoc deck dressing – Rich Meranti after through sanding of each timber section.

• • Bitumen waterproofing on structural timber and bottom of the deck ensures no rot will appear from water droplets.

• • The restored deck is a compliment to the home and garden.

Project Outcome:

• Overall Impact: The client is able to entertain their guests to great braai’s and enjoy gorgeous views over their garden on the restored deck. The deck can easily be maintained via routine coats of Wooddoc Deck dressing when required, saving both time and money in the long term. The stairs, are in a much safer condition than prior to the restoration.

• Client Feedback: The client was very satisfied with the thorough sanding that was done on the deck and the necessary replacement of the rotten timbers. The client is also very satisfied with the visibility of the natural wood color and grain.
